The 2022 IONIQ 5 is more than just electric power, and it’s about more than just reducing emissions. At the very core of Hyundai vehicle design, the IONIQ 5 is built with sustainable, environment-friendly materials. For example, the interior is designed with features like eco-processed leather, recycled yarn and bio paint. From the inside out, the IONIQ 5 aims to reduce overall environmental impact in style.
Customizable Interior Space
The IONIQ 5’s 5-passenger interior space is designed to be welcoming and comfortable. It offers customizable seating and functional options to make you feel as at home as in your living room. A customizable interior space is possible thanks to reimagined Hyundai body design. For this SUV model, Hyundai has extended the wheelbase, slimmed down the cockpit and completely flattened the interior floor. This all works to maximize interior space to the fullest capacity. The IONIQ 5 is also fitted with a moveable center console. Rear passenger seats can also slide forward and backward.
Unique Exterior Styling
The 2022 IONIQ 5 models an all-new body style for Hyundai. It’s futuristic, featuring a sleek silhouette, defined contouring and auto-flush door handles. Its front profile showcases a clean, minimalist design, complemented by bold, square LED headlights and daytime running lights. It will also feature bold, 20” aero-optimized wheels to provide optimal efficiency and aerodynamics. And all your passengers will enjoy the views, thanks to the panoramic sunroof. Forward-Thinking Technology
The IONIQ 5 is equipped with several technology features that make your drive more convenient and enjoyable. When you sit behind the wheel, you’ll notice the 12” customizable digital cluster gauge, putting everything you want to know in your line of sight. The IONIQ 5 is also equipped with a 12” infotainment touchscreen that features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and advanced voice recognition technology.
For the first time at Hyundai, the IONIQ 5 will be equipped with an Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR HUD). This exciting new feature turns your windshield into a display screen to show information such as speed, kilometer range, navigation and more.
Electrifying Performance and Charging
You’ll never have to worry about setting aside time for charging, because this EV ensures that you’re always ready to hit the road. The IONIQ 5 is built with a 77.4 kWh battery and fast-charging capability. This EV will be able to charge up to 80% in just 18 minutes! And if you’re in a hurry, charging for 5 minutes alone will provide you with a 100 km range. On a full charge, the IONIQ 5 is estimated to provide a total range of 470-480 km.
The IONIQ 5 is anticipated to be offered with two drive types: rear-drive and all-wheel drive. If you opt for the rear-drive, the IONIQ 5 outputs 225 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. The all-wheel drive option offers more power, providing you with 320 horsepower and 446 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s clear that this EV won’t compromise on power or efficiency.
Safety
Little safety feature information has been released so far, but we expect it to include many of the capabilities offered in other Hyundai models. Some safety features we’re likely to see include:
- Available Forward Collision Warning with Automated Emergency Braking
- Available Lane Departure Warning and Lane-Keeping Assist
- Available Adaptive Cruise Control
