1. A New Hybrid Option with Long Range and Efficiency

For the first time in its history, the Palisade offers a hybrid powertrain. Hyundai pairs a turbocharged 2.5-litre engine with electric assistance to generate a combined 329 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. This setup gives the Palisade HEV strong acceleration and confident passing performance, even with a full load of passengers.

Beyond power, this hybrid system prioritizes range and efficiency. Hyundai targets fuel consumption at 7.0 L/100 km on the highway and estimates over 900 kilometres of range per tank. It also maintains impressive functionality, offering up to 4,000 pounds of towing capacity and a new Stay Mode that lets the driver use infotainment and climate systems while parked.

2. The Standard V6 Gets Better, Too

The Palisade’s gas-powered engine has been replaced by a new 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V6 producing 287 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard HTRAC all-wheel drive, it’s tuned for a smoother, more linear power delivery than before.

This new engine is also more refined. Hyundai used laminated glass, upgraded under-hood insulation, and sound-absorbing carpets to create a quieter cabin. Drivers who tow will also benefit from a new tow mode that alters transmission shift points and throttle response for more stable hauling of up to 5,000 pounds.

3. More Room for Everyone, Especially in the Back

The new Palisade is longer overall (+65 mm) and has a stretched wheelbase (+70 mm), which translates directly into a more spacious cabin. The third-row area, in particular, benefits from larger windows and extra light thanks to the redesigned D-pillar and side glass.

Interior access has also been improved. Second-row seats feature a one-touch slide and tilt function for easier third-row entry. Power-folding, sliding, and reclining are now available for the third row, and heating is offered even in the rear-most seats. With cupholders and high-wattage USB-C ports in every row, comfort and convenience are standard no matter where you’re seated.

4. XRT PRO: The Most Rugged Palisade Ever

Hyundai is offering an all-new XRT PRO trim aimed at buyers seeking real off-road capability in a family-friendly package. This variant adds a one-inch suspension lift (for 8.4 inches of total ground clearance), all-terrain tires, and an electronic rear limited-slip differential.

In addition to mechanical upgrades, the XRT PRO gets exclusive design touches like dark trim, orange recovery hooks, unique wheels, and model-specific badging. Inside, there’s durable leatherette seating, heated first- and second-row seats, and a 14-speaker Bose® audio system. It’s a serious evolution of the Palisade’s adventurous side.

5. Major Safety Upgrades Across the Board

Hyundai has significantly expanded the Palisade’s safety systems. Ten airbags now come standard, including rear-seat side-impact protection and third-row curtain coverage. Even third-row passengers benefit from pretensioners and force limiters on their seatbelts—an uncommon feature in this class.

Advanced driver assistance is also broader than before. Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control, Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, and a new Direct Driver Monitoring system are all either standard or available, depending on trim. Together, these technologies help protect the Palisade’s occupants in more scenarios than ever before.

6. First- and Second-Row Relaxation Seating

The 2026 Palisade introduces optional Relaxation Seats for both the driver and second-row passengers. These seats can recline further than traditional setups and include deployable upper-leg support to reduce fatigue on long drives.

These new seats are part of a broader focus on comfort throughout the cabin. Ventilation and heating are available in both the second and third rows, and all seats benefit from ergonomic improvements. The cabin’s new layout and softer materials also give it a more upscale feel that aligns with the vehicle’s flagship status.

7. An Interior Designed for Tech and Comfort

Technology is at the forefront of the Palisade’s redesigned cabin. Dual 12.3-inch curved displays now serve as the instrument cluster and infotainment interface, forming a seamless digital cockpit. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are standard across the lineup.

New USB-C ports with up to 100-watt charging are accessible in every row. A 15-watt wireless charging pad with a built-in cooling fan keeps devices ready for use. Other upgrades include a digital rearview mirror with a liftgate-mounted camera, Over-the-Air (OTA) update capability, and next-generation Bluelink® services with smartphone and voice control integration.

8. Built-In Dashcam and Smart Safety Recording

One of the more unique safety additions is a factory-installed front and rear dashcam system that works with the Palisade’s external sensors to detect and record events such as hard braking, collisions, or nearby movement in a parking lot.

This feature can save drivers from the hassle of installing aftermarket systems and adds peace of mind in various situations. Footage can be reviewed on the infotainment screen or downloaded via a MicroSD card in the glovebox, making incident reporting or insurance claims more seamless.

9. Practical Everyday Features That Make a Difference

The Palisade includes a variety of thoughtful features designed to simplify everyday use. A new UV-C sanitizing tray is integrated into the centre console and can be used to clean frequently touched items like phones or keys. Heated washer nozzles and rearview camera washers improve visibility in bad weather.

Palisade’s tailgate area has also been made more useful. Seat controls located in the cargo area let you fold or slide rear seats without needing to climb into the vehicle. Multiple power outlets, ambient lighting, and smart storage areas round out a list of real-world conveniences that cater to family life.

10. New Look, Premium Presence

Hyundai didn’t just upgrade the Palisade’s functionality—the exterior design also sees major improvements. A more upright hood and vertical daytime running lights give the front end a commanding appearance. Active grille shutters help manage airflow and reduce drag, contributing to a class-leading 0.31 coefficient of drag.

At the rear, bold taillight signatures connect with the redesigned D-pillar and integrated roof rails. Available 21-inch alloy wheels and a more muscular stance reflect the Palisade’s new proportions. The model is offered in nine exterior colours, including a new matte-finish Earthy Brass, while interior options range from leatherette to Nappa leather in multiple hues and textures.

Conclusion

The 2026 Hyundai Palisade marks a comprehensive evolution of Hyundai’s top-tier family SUV. Whether you’re looking for more space, a more efficient powertrain, the latest safety technologies, or real off-road ability, the new Palisade delivers. With improvements to every major area—from driving range and seating comfort to connectivity and versatility—it stands as a more complete and well-rounded option than ever before. This is no minor refresh—it’s a next-generation redesign that raises the bar for three-row utility vehicles.
