Bold Design Meets Everyday Utility

The IONIQ 9 is immediately recognizable with its pixel-themed lighting elements, smooth aerodynamic lines, and modern proportions. Though it shares its design philosophy with other IONIQ models, its size and purpose set it apart. Riding on large wheels up to 21 inches in diameter and featuring flush door handles, the IONIQ 9 emphasizes both form and efficiency.

Beyond styling, the SUV’s exterior integrates practicality with features like a smart power liftgate, solar windshield and front glass, and acoustic insulation for a quieter ride. Higher trims add exclusive body-colour wheel arches and unique Calligraphy design accents for a more upscale presence on the road.

Three Rows of Passenger-Focused Comfort

2026 Hyundai IONIQ 9

Inside, the IONIQ 9 is built with families in mind. Seating for up to seven comes standard, and a six-passenger configuration with captain’s chairs is available on the range-topping Ultimate Calligraphy trim. The cabin is open and well-lit, with available panoramic sunroof, customizable ambient lighting, and relaxation seats in the first and second rows. Materials range from durable black leatherette to dual-tone soft-touch surfaces and Calligraphy-exclusive trim elements.

Convenience extends to every row, with up to seven USB-C charging ports, heated front seats on all models, and available ventilation in both the front and second rows. Features like a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, power-folding third-row seats, and a sliding centre console provide luxury-grade ergonomics at every trim level.

Powerful EV Performance with Long Range

All versions of the IONIQ 9 use Hyundai’s largest battery yet—110.3 kWh—paired with either a single rear motor or a dual-motor all-wheel drive system. Power output ranges from 215 horsepower in the Essential RWD to 422 horsepower in the AWD+ trims, which also deliver 516 lb-ft of torque.

Regardless of configuration, all versions of the IONIQ 9 offer at least 500 km of electric driving range. The Essential RWD model achieves up to 539 km, while the dual-motor variants maintain impressive range with added performance. Towing capacity tops out at 5,000 pounds, and the ultra-fast 800V charging system enables a charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes using a 350 kW DC fast charger.

Advanced Technology and Safety on Every Trim

The IONIQ 9 delivers a suite of smart features and safety systems as standard. Hyundai SmartSense™ is included on all versions, offering features like Highway Driving Assist II, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist. Higher trims build on this foundation with a Surround View Monitor, Blind Spot View Monitor, and Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist.

Inside the cabin, tech is also abundant. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, while higher trims introduce a Bose 14-speaker sound system, head-up display, full-display digital rearview mirror, and Bluelink® connected services. Over-the-air updates and a digital key system allow the vehicle to stay current and convenient long after the initial purchase.
